And today the investigators started to take him into custody. ED officials raided the flat of Hooghly youth leader Kuntal Ghosh yesterday morning. ED officials divided into two teams and searched two flats in Kuntal since Friday morning. Kuntal was arrested after about 23 hours of searching. ED claimed to have recovered several important documents from his two flats. Later he was arrested. It is learned that the Youth Trinamool leader was detained by the Primary Enforcement Directorate on charges of non-cooperation in the investigation.

It is known that there are two flats in the name of the Trinamool youth leader in luxury housing in Chinar Park area of ​​Newtown. Those flats are searched vigorously. Earlier, Tapas Mondal, who is known to be close to ousted Primary Education Board president Manik Bhattacharya, had alleged that Kuntal was involved in teacher recruitment corruption. Kuntal took Tk 3 crore 25 lakh from 325 teacher candidates. A total of 19 crore rupees related to corruption entered Kuntal’s pocket. Tapas Mondal has also brought forward the information through which agents Kuntal used to take money. The CBI had earlier summoned Kuntal for questioning. Kuntal appeared at Nizam Palace after 3 pm on Wednesday. He left with several documents that day. CBI called him again on Thursday. And yesterday ED raided his flat.

Meanwhile, along with Kuntal, Trinamool leader Shantanu Banerjee’s house was searched for more than 12 hours on Friday. According to ED sources, several documents have also been collected from there. It is known that Shantanu may be summoned to the CBI office CGO Complex in Kolkata next week. Incidentally, this Shantanu is the Health Officer of Hooghly Zilla Parishad and former Youth President of District Trinamool. Shantanu’s house is in Baruipara village of Balagarh. Meanwhile, Shantanu said that he knows Kuntal. They both ‘team together’. However, Shantanu’s statement, ‘I know Kuntal does not mean that I am responsible if something happens. I didn’t do anything wrong. Not associated with any corruption.’
