Adipurush controversy

Om Raut’s ‘Adipurush’ has been courting controversy ever since its teaser released in October 2022. The first teaser with its VFX was a big no-no for audiences and fans seemed disappointed. Many groups alleged the representation of Lord Hanuman and Raavan’s portrayal in the teaser as ‘apparent Islamisation’. They criticized and rejected the beard and buzz cut of the demon king, Lankesh, played by Saif Ali Khan.

Later, work on VFX was done with a better quality of visuals as is apparent in the main trailer which was released earlier this year.

Adipurush release date

After its premiere at the Tribeca Festival in the Escape From Tribeca section on June 15, ‘Adipurush’ will be released on June 16.
