Adipurush Box Office Collection Day 3: Prabhas-Kriti Sanon Starrer Mints Rs 300 Crore Worldwide

New Delhi: Om Raut’s epic Adipurush made an amazing Rs 129 crore (nett) at the box office on its opening weekend despite controversy and a decision to modify a few of its dialogues. The Prabhas and Kriti Sanon movie was released on June 16 to generally negative reviews. The trolling hasn’t, however, affected the movie’s box office performance. On Sunday, Adipurush’s day 3 box office take was Rs 65 crore (nett).

Earlier, makers of the mythological drama had shared the film’s box office earnings on social media on Saturday. T-series shared the gross earnings of Adipurush as 240 crore at the global box office. “Adipurush continues to mesmerise audiences worldwide, surpassing expectations with a bumper opening of ₹140 CR on Day 1, it adds ₹100 CR on Day 2, taking the total collection to a phenomenal ₹240 CR in just two days! Jai Shri Ram 🙏”

The makers of the film also announced that they will eliminate some dialogues that caused dissent in numerous regions of India. The film’s director Raut and dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla spoke out in response to criticism that the film disrespected the epic Ramayan. Manoj Muntashir claimed in a tweet that despite authoring more than 4000 lines for Adipurush, sentiments were hurt “because of five lines.”

Issuing a long statement on Twitter, Manoj Muntashir wrote, “I have no complaint with you, you were, are and will be my own. If we stand against each other, Sanatan will lose. We have created Adipurush for Sanatan Seva, which you are seeing in large numbers and I am sure you will see in future as well. Why this post? Because for me there is nothing greater than your feeling. I can give countless arguments in favor of my dialogues, but this will not reduce your pain. Me and the producer-director of the film have decided that some of the dialogues which are hurting you, we’ll revise them, and they’ll be added to the film this week. May Shri Ram bless you all!”

T-Series also released a statement that read as, “There’s nothing beyond sentiments of audiences and harmony. Team Adipurush in respect of public opinion, revamps dialogues for unifying film experience.”

Adipurush’s visual effects have also drawn criticism. After the first look of the movie was released, the team had to put the project on hold while they addressed issues from the audience in the department. Prabhas plays Raghava in the epic Ramayana-inspired movie, which also stars Kriti Sanon as Janaki and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana. The film also features Sunny Singh and Devdatta Nage as Lakshman and Hanuman, respectively, and has a stated budget of Rs 500 crore.
