Adah Sharma opens up about her ‘who wore it better’ post featuring Bappi Lahiri, says people are looking for reasons to get offended – Times of India

Adah Sharma | had received a backlash on social media recently after she shared a ‘who wore it better’ post on Facebook featuring Bappi Lahiri.

Talking about the same, Adah told a news portal that we live in a time where people are looking for reasons to get offended. The actress also went on to talk about social media which she feels is a double-edged sword. Adah added that social media has been a boon for her. According to her, there is so much she can put out there that no one would have even known of if she wasn’t on social media.

Elaborating further, Adah added that apart from her bold avatar on social media, she wants that image to reflect through her film choices. According to her, as an actor the main thing that keeps one going is hope. Now with experimental content being made and the stuff she is getting to do now, the actress hopes she get a chance to do all she wants to in this lifetime.

Talking about how roles for women have changed over the years, Adah stated that Shabana Azmi in ‘Ankur’, Smita Patil in ‘Bhumika’, Waheeda Rehman in ‘Guide’… the 60s and 70s had very strong written female characters. Now, many roles for women are being written. The actress added that she would like to see equality arise where we don’t discriminate between any genders.
