In the past, the political drama of Maharashtra came to an end after the resignation of the Mahavikas Aghadi coalition (MVA)-led government. In which after the resignation of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, ‘rebel’ Eknath Shinde took oath as the new Chief Minister with the support of BJP. It has not even been two weeks since this change of power in Maharashtra, but in the meantime, there are signs of cracks in the MVA. Which is being led by Congress leader Murli Deora. In which former Mumbai Congress President and MP Murli Deora has questioned the delimitation in the wards of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) during the Uddhav Thackeray government.
Shiv Sena has delimited according to its advantage in the wards of Congress’s victory: Deora
Former Mumbai Congress chief and MP Deora has made serious allegations against the Uddhav Thackeray government of the MVA coalition. In this regard, Deora has written a letter to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, seeking intervention from the Congress councilors of BMC. Deora has alleged that out of the 30 wards in which the Congress had won in the 2017 BMC elections, 20 wards have been delimited with the intention of causing serious harm to the Congress. In which these wards have been manipulated to benefit one party.

demand for cancellation of delimitation
Deora has written a letter to Chief Minister Shinde as well as Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in this regard. The copy of which he has also shared on Twitter. In the letter, Deora has urged to cancel the recently concluded ward-wise delimitation and reservation of BMC. He further wrote while tweeting that Mumbaikars deserve free and fair elections.
In the letter, Deora has said that suggestions and objections were sought in February 2022 as part of the delimitation and demarcation exercise of the state government to re-create and reserve wards in the BMC. Around 800 objections were received by the Municipal Bodies and the State Election Commission. But, none of them were considered. As a result, the delimitation and demarcation of ward boundaries was done to benefit only one party, he said. It is believed that the manner in which Congress leader Deora has directly attacked Uddhav Thackeray. This is sure to have an impact on MVA in the coming days.
