Aayaram-Gayaram: Where are we common people in the politics of defection?

There is a snowflake in the air. There is a group of desires, aspirations, ambitions in the mind. And in today’s politics there is a quagmire of party-change. In this environment of political party-change, we common people are nothing more than a handful of lentils in the houses of leaders. Still, it doesn’t matter to us.

The party for which we vote them, in five years they turn to the second or third party and sometimes they come to the fourth party to ask for our votes again, but we do not care. We vote for them again. They then switch sides.

Look at it this way – our attachment to a leader can be because of his works or because of his party. Our public interest can be attached to any party and any alliance. But when that leader breaks the same party, the same alliance and goes to some other party, this is the only act which does not concern us common people.

Defection happens only and only because of personal interest. There are only three reasons for this – position, money or ambition. Where is our interest as voters in this? But we do not want to understand it. Every time, they break our bones and bangles together.

These great warriors keep crushing our lonely unarmed voice with their brahmastras. But no one comes to save by putting his hand in this broken wheel of the chariot of democracy. Why even come? We have a fearless habit of getting scattered again and again after breaking down and then joining like a bitter struggle. Generous These leaders consider this generosity as our helplessness. Weakness too.

But it doesn’t matter to them. They join the ruling party to wash their corruption clean in the washing machine. And within a few days it is seen that they have really become synonymous with whiteness. No stain left.

When today’s Abhimanyu challenging his Akshauhini army succeeds in breaking his Chakravyuh, his ambition starts bursting like a moong lying in a bowl. Even at the age of eighty-two, they boast that they will make the party stand once again. … that the power will once again kiss his feet?

… And that Abhimanyu, who had taken the knowledge of entering the Chakravyuh in his mother’s womb but not how to get out, then who gave the knowledge of breaking the Chakravyuh to this political Abhimanyu of today? Surely the ruling party (powerful) and its greed must have given it, but we are not concerned about it. Not even that what our Krishna, Ram and Manu did, how did they do and what are these people’s representatives doing today?

Where do we have leisure except from everyday struggle and hassle? We have a life full of hardships. Income of few notes. That too is available after completion of the month. That’s all, they remain engrossed in this and our real power, which has been mortgaged to these leaders for a long time, they use it to raise and lower the throne.

However, the process of toppling governments is old in our country. The excuses and reasons are too shallow. The 1977 example of standing together against a single force was unique in Indian politics. This experiment of Jai Prakash Narayan was also successful and when he was counting breaths on the ventilator, then this experiment also died. If Chaudhary Charan Singh had listened to Morarji, if Madhu Limaye had not created a ruckus of double membership of the Sangh, then this dream of JP would not have been destroyed halfway.

Sharad Pawar also held a party meeting at YB Chavan Center i.e. NCP office on Tuesday. Many leaders including working president Supriya Sule were present in it.

If the Congress, which gave unconditional support to Chaudhary Charan Singh, did not hand over a bundle of conditions to him on the day of proving his majority, that government would not have fallen either. The same thing happened with Chandrashekhar who had vowed never to take any post other than the post of Prime Minister. What were two constables of Haryana Police seen in front of Rajiv Gandhi’s house, Chandrashekhar’s government was toppled.

Overall, today’s political environment is based on fear and intimidation. Leaders have put swords to their words and we have been sleeping for years. Now even the heavy rain doesn’t wake us up by rattling the roof sheets. Because the roofs are now of cement. They have neither ears nor nose. It is clear that the sanctum sanctorums of the temple of power now have silver umbrellas. There are golden lamps. There are also fringes studded with diamonds, but there is no God. We have started getting more satisfaction from seeing this gold, this silver and these diamonds. This drowsiness should be removed. This sleep should end.
