Aadhaar link with voter card! Election Commission on campaign from today

Aadhaar card link with Voter ID. On Monday, the Election Commission (EC) started a regular campaign in several states. This link is being used to ensure voter identity and to verify entry into the voter list. This is what the Election Commission said.

Voter ID card link with Aadhaar card

The Election Laws (Amendment) Bill allows linking of Aadhaar with Voter ID. It was passed by a voice vote in the Lok Sabha in December 2021.

The Election Commission has said that linking voter ID with Aadhaar card will help in identification if a person registers his name multiple times in multiple constituencies or in the same constituency.

Aadhaar number of voters will be given in Form-6B. Form-6B is available online at nvsp.in. After self-authentication, voters can fill Form-6B online on Voter Portal/App.

OTP will be sent to Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) registered mobile number. Hence the phone number linked with Aadhaar is important in this case.

Form-6B should be submitted online without self-authentication along with required enclosures.
