A Twitter user on Sunday posted a tweet where he questioned Sachin’s fan following as compared to Dhoni.
Cricket is followed in almost every household in India as many even consider it as a religion. The Indian cricket team has given several youth icons and stars to the people of the country as Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni definitely ranked in the top of the tally. While some cricket lovers and Tendulkar fans hit back and responded to the tweet.
You perhaps haven’t seen Indian cricket in the 1990s and 2000s to understand what Tendulkar meant to India.Not comparing X or Y but SRT was indeed ‘God of Cricket’ for Indians through his playing days. Perhaps still is for many of them.

TV sets used to get switched off right after he would get out. And there would be lengthy discussions among friends/neighbours about why he played a certain shot to a certain delivery, and lost his wicket.Lived through those times.

Tendulkar retired from international cricket in 2013 while Dhoni is currently at the fag end of cricket as many feel that the ongoing season of IPL is his last.
