Vetrival, a resident of Arur in Tamil Nadu, bought the car, but collected Rs 10 coins for it for a month. When their value reached 6 lakhs, Vetrival filled all the coins in plastic bags and reached the showroom of the car. Vetrival was upset that people refused to accept 10 coins, so he decided to buy a car with coins.

There was a pile of coins at home
Vetrivel said that his mother runs a shop. They have to deal with such cases every day when customers refuse to accept Rs 10 coins. Due to this a huge pile of 10K coins was found at his house. He said that when RBI has not said that coins are worthless, why are banks not accepting them? No action is taken even after complaining.

When he saw the children playing with 10 coins, he felt that they were useless. So, he decided to raise awareness by buying cars only with coins.

Car dealers were hesitant to take coins
The showroom in Aroor where Vetrival reached to get the car, at first the employees there were shocked to see the coins. He also hesitated to take the coins, but later on seeing Vetrival’s determination, he agreed. These coins brought in sacks were counted, only after that they were given the keys of the car.

Bhupathi had taken two and a half lakh coins
Earlier, another case had come to light from Tamil Nadu itself in March 2022 when a person V Bhupathi had gone to buy Bajaj Dominor 400 bike worth Rs 2.6 lakh. These were all one rupee coins, which took him three years to add. When he reached the showroom with them, it took 10 hours to count them.
