A 68-year-old man raped a minor girl in April 2023 in Delhi. During this, the son of the accused made a video of the incident. The son showed the video to the victim’s father, after which the family complained to the police. Now the police have arrested the man accused of rape and his son who made the video.
Delhi Police said on Thursday that the old man had raped a 16-year-old girl living in the neighborhood. During this, the son of the accused recorded the video. The incident took place between 20 and 30 April. The accused threatened the victim not to tell anyone about the incident.
The relationship of the accused with his son was not good
On June 27, when the victim’s father saw the video of the incident, he decided to complain to the police. The girl’s father told the police that the accused is our neighbour. The girl was outside her house on the day of the incident, when the neighbor allured her and took her to his home. Here the man raped the girl.
When the elder’s son suspected the father, he chased him and reached the spot and made a video of the incident. Police said that the accused lives with his wife and child. Relations with the son’s father were not good.
Case registered in various sections including POCSO
Sagar Singh Kalsi Deputy Commissioner (North) said that after questioning the old man and his son have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. A case has been registered against the accused (elderly) under IPC sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation), 354 and POCSO. Police is collecting evidence against the old man’s son for making a video during the rape.
DCP (North) told that a person named Narendra living in the victim’s neighborhood is pressurizing him to withdraw the case. Based on the family’s complaint, a case has also been registered against Narendra. Police say that Narendra was intimidating the victim’s family at the behest of the accused elder.
On the other hand, counseling has been done for the victim. He has been sent for medical test. The girl’s statement will be recorded before the judge under section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
