OnePlus is going to bring the Android 14-based update for its flagship phone in November and here’s what you can expect from the new OS.

OnePlus has taken matters in its hands by revealing the OxygenOS 14 which is based on the Android 14 version. Google is yet to make the new version available to the public but OnePlus has not only shown us its new OyxgenOS version but also talked about the new features that OnePlus users can expect to see with the Android 14-based update.

The company has confirmed that the latest OnePlus 11 5G will be the first to get the Android 14 update sometime around mid-November. In addition to this, a slew of OnePlus phones will get the beta Android 14 update in the coming weeks. So, what does the new OxygenOS 14 version offer for the users and does it have any eye-catching features that make it worth installing? Here are the details you need.

OxygenOS 14 Update: What’s New?

The company shared the details of the OxygenOS 14 version which more and more feels like an iteration of Oppo’s ColorOS software that can be good and bad in some ways. There is a hint of Material You design element to OxygenOS 14 which was expected but OnePlus has tried to keep its originality and fluidity intact. There is a lot of buzzword used in the new elements of OxygenOS 14 which we are yet to see how it brings tangible changes.

However, there are some interesting features like File Dock which is your one-stop app to keep text, images and videos and convert them into notes that can be shared with others. The company has also introduced Smart Cutout which allows you to select a specific part of a photo and move them out of it, something that Samsung has done with the One UI earlier.

There are some new ringtones on offer for OnePlus users and the company has made some updates to its Aquamorphic Design which it claims now has a more transparent interface while accessing apps.

The other stuff that OnePlus has talked about are Trinity Engine, which apparently unlocks the full potential of the phone’s hardware. There is also something called CPU Vitalisation and RAM Vitalisation, both of which are supposed to improve the chip and memory performance. OnePlus has kept the feature list to a minimum with OxygenOS 14 but we are hoping to see more additions with the future builds. OnePlus will bring the OxygenOS 14 version to more OnePlus and Nord phones in the coming months.
