Over 55 Lakh Students Register For UP Board Exams 2024 – News18

The practical exams of UP Board 2024 will be held from January 21 to February 5.

The number of registrations has increased for Class 11 only while Class 9,10 and 12 have shown a lower number of students this year.

Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) closed the registration process for Class 10 and 12 board exams on September 10. Along with this, the online application process for the Class 9 and 11 exams has also concluded. Students who have registered can make corrections in their application forms from September 14 to September 20. They can contact their school authorities for the respective changes. After receiving the online application forms, the school heads are required to send the list of the final registered students with their photographs to the regional office of UPMSP. The last date to complete the process is September 30.

According to UP Board secretary, Dibyakant Shukla, a total of 55,03,863 students have registered for the Class 10 and Class 12 Board exams 2024. Out of this 29,54,036 students are for high school board exams while the rest 25,49,827 students are for intermediate board exams.

Similarly, a total of 52,75,600 students have registered themselves for the final exams of Class 9 and Class 11. Out of this, 27,51,807 students belong to Class 9 and 25,23,793 students belong to Class 11. As per some media reports, the overall composition of the students has decreased by 3,26,678 students. The number of registrations has increased for Class 11 only while Class 9,10 and 12 have shown a lower number of students this year.

According to the school authorities, the increased number of students in Class 11 is because almost 90 per cent of students passed the high school UP board examination in 2023.

UP Board has already announced the date for the practical examination of class 10 and 12 board exams. According to the schedule released by UPMSP, the practical examination is scheduled from January 21 to February 5, 2024. The theory exams will be conducted after that. The dates for the same have not been announced yet.

The UPMSP has changed the rules for the distance of examination centres for the board exams in 2024. The male students will have to cover a distance of 12 km to reach the examination centre. Last year, it was 10 Km. As for the female students, the examination centre will be located within a distance of 7 km. Last year, it was 5 km.
