Ajit Pawar said that he never wanted to become the Leader of Opposition, but had accepted the post on the demand of the MLAs.
Ajit Pawar on Wednesday said that Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar is a bigger leader than Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal and Nitish Kumar. He said this in a program organized in Mumbai on the occasion of 24th Foundation Day of NCP. During this, many big leaders including Sharad Pawar, Supriya Sule and Chhagan Bhujbal were present.
Ajit Pawar also said that he should be relieved of the responsibility of the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly and given some responsibility in the organization.
Ajit said – never wanted to be the leader of the opposition
Ajit Pawar said- I have been told that as the leader of the opposition in the assembly, I do not behave strictly. Actually, I never wanted to become the Leader of Opposition, but accepted the post on the demand of the MLAs.
He asked the party leadership to give me any post in the party organization. I will do full justice to that post. Pawar was made the Leader of the Opposition in the assembly last year after the fall of the Uddhav government.

Ajit said – changes should be made if necessary
Ajit Pawar said that if Mamta Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal, Jagan Mohan Reddy and K Chandrasekhar Rao can form governments in the states on their own, then Sharad Pawar is their biggest leader. In such a situation, why can’t NCP work towards winning Maharashtra on its own?
He said that introspection is necessary. Changes should also be made if necessary.
Can’t ignore Prakash Ambedkar and BRS: Ajit
Ajit Pawar said in the program that Chandrasekhar Rao’s Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) and Prakash Ambedkar’s Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi cannot be ignored. In 2019, the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi had damaged the Congress-NCP alliance. We have to ensure that there is no division of votes among like minded parties.
Pawar appointed Supriya Sule as working president
On June 10, Supriya Sule, daughter of party chief Sharad Pawar, and Praful Patel were made the new working presidents. Supriya has been given the responsibility of Maharashtra, Punjab and Haryana.
