Himachal: Rohtang Pass restored after 38 days delay: DC issues orders; Movement of tourists started, 1200 vehicles will get permit daily

Rohtang Pass at an altitude of 13050 feet in Manali, Himachal Pradesh has been restored for tourist movement after seven months. DC Kullu has issued orders regarding this. Now tourists from all over the country will be able to see the high mountains of snow and enjoy the journey between them.

This time the Rohtang Pass has been restored with a delay of 38 days as compared to last year, because this time snow has been falling repeatedly till May 15. Vehicular movement was started from Manali to Madhi in the first week of June itself, but it was made one-way from Madhi till Rohtang Pass. The work of making the parking and road two-lane was going on since four-five years. Now it is done.

1200 vehicles will be allowed to go to Rohtang daily

The environment should not be harmed and the traffic system should be maintained. In view of this, only 1200 tourist vehicles will be allowed to go here daily. Of these, 800 and 400 will be diesel vehicles.

DC Kullu Ashutosh Garg informed that Rohtang Pass was restored to traffic after a joint inspection by DSP Manali and BRO. He said that traffic will be allowed as per the orders and conditions of NGT.
