Amritpal was arrested on the morning of 23 April from Rode village in Moga.

Chief of pro-Khalistan ‘Waris Punjab De’ Amritpal Singh has reached behind bars after being absconding for 36 days. After escaping during the police operation on March 18, he eluded the police for 36 days. During this he stayed at about 10 places in Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, New Delhi, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. To escape from the police, Amritpal changed his appearance 5 times outside.

Amritpal reached village Rode of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala in Moga district amidst the search operation of the police in these 6 states including Punjab. Amritpal has been telling Bhindranwala as his ideal. The police arrested him on the morning of 23 April from the Sikh Khalsa Gurdwara in Rode village.

After absconding, where did he stay for 36 days to avoid the eyes of the police? That’s what everyone wants to know. Teams of all the intelligence agencies of Center and Punjab including NIA have camped in Dibrugarh, Assam to interrogate him. The apprehension of many more people harboring Amritpal or helping him in the coming days cannot be ruled out.

The places where Amritpal spent 36 days

March 18: Stopped at Gurdwara in Jalandhar, ate food
On March 18, after escaping in the midst of a police operation in Jalandhar, Amritpal first reached the Gurudwara of Nangal Ambia village in Jalandhar district. As per police records, Amritpal took Pathi and his family there at gunpoint. That day the girls were coming to see the Pathi’s son in the Gurdwara. Amritpal ate what the family had prepared for him and left after picking up his son’s jacket.

March 18 night: spent in Patiala
Amritpal was seen at Sherpur in Ludhiana on the night of March 18 and after leaving there reached Patiala. He spent the night of 18 March in Patiala. The next day he took a scooty with his partner Papalpreet and reached Shahabad in Kurukshetra district in Haryana.

March 19-20: Stayed in Kurukshetra
After leaving Punjab and reaching Haryana, Amripatal stayed in Kurukshetra district for two days (19 and 20 March). He spent both these days at Shahabad in Kurukshetra district. He stayed there at the house of Baljit Kaur, an acquaintance of Papalpreet Singh, located in Siddharth Colony. Police has arrested Baljeet Kaur.

March 21: Delhi In cut off Night
After spending two days in Shahabad, Haryana, Amritpal Singh reached Delhi on 21 March along with his partner Papalpreet. One day both of them stayed at a knowledgeable person’s place in Delhi’s Ramesh Park area.

Pilibhit and Lakhimpur Gaya of UP
Amritpal left for UP from Delhi. He spent several days in Lakhimpur Kheri and Pilibhit belt of UP. During this he stayed in many camps there. One of these camps belonged to Joga Singh, a companion of Amritpal. Joga Singh has been arrested by the police on 15th April.

After absconding, Amritpal released two videos appealing to call Sarbat Khalsa, the first video was shot in Joga Singh’s camp.

Phagwara and Hoshiapur came from UP
Joga Singh reached Phagwara in his Scorpio car (UK06AR1313) on March 27 with Amritpal and Papalpreet. After staying here in a camp, Amritpal left for Hoshiarpur on the night of 28 March. There he had to give an interview to a news channel, but due to the strictness of the police and the search operation, he could not give this interview.

Amritpal and Joga Singh stayed in Hoshiarpur on the night of 28 March. Two brothers, Gurdeep Singh and Kuldeep Singh, from Hoshiarpur helped them stay. Ludhiana police arrested these two brothers on 13th April.

After leaving Hoshiarpur went to many states, search in Rajasthan
Amritpal left Hoshiarpur on 29 March. After this, at which places he stayed in Uttarakhand, Maharashtra and other places, the police is tracing him. Meanwhile, another photo of Amritpal came to the fore in which he was seen enjoying energy drink with his partner Papalpreet.

On Baisakhi i.e. 13th April, there was input that Amritpal would be in Rajasthan. On this, a search was started in the areas adjoining Punjab in Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh districts. Punjab and Rajasthan police also detained some people in this joint operation. However, all of them were later released.

Last search operation in Rode village
To catch Amritpal, the police conducted the last search operation in Moga itself. Amritpal had reached Rode village of Moga at around 10 pm on 22 April. Police got its input. Amritpal was planning to arrest the crowd on Sunday, April 23, but the police reached the village early in the morning and arrested him at 6:45 am.
