Umesh Pal, the main witness in the Raju Pal murder case who was a BSP MLA in Uttar Pradesh, and his gunner Sandeep Mishra were killed on Friday. Second gunner Raghavendra Singh is seriously injured. In Prayagraj, the attackers shot him after entering his house. At present, the identity of the attackers is not known.

Raju Pal was murdered in 2005
Raju Pal, former BSP MLA from Allahabad West, was shot dead on January 25, 2005 in Sulemasarai. His wife Pooja Pal is SP’s MLA from Chail seat of Kaushambi. In the Raju Pal murder case, a report was lodged against former MP Atiq Ahmed and his younger brother former MLA Khalid Azim alias Ashraf, along with others. Umesh Pal was the main witness of the incident. He was the son of Raju Pal’s wife Pooja Pal’s real aunt.
The Raju Pal murder case was investigated by the CBI, in which Umesh Pal is the main witness. This is the reason why he has been threatened with death several times. Pooja Pal, MLA from Chail seat of Raju Pal’s wife Kaushambi, has also expressed apprehension many times that Umesh Pal may be murdered to influence the testimony. Umesh Pal had also told about the threat to his life.
Enmity with Atiq is 17 years old
The enmity between former BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case’s main witness Umesh Pal and former Bahubali MP Atiq Ahmed is about 17 years old. When Umesh became a witness in the Raju Pal murder case, Atiq had kidnapped him. Till now five FIRs have been lodged against Umesh Atik gang. On 25 January 2005, City West MLA Raju Pal was gunned down in Sulem Sarai area. At that time Raju Pal’s friend and relative Umesh Pal had become the witness of the whole case.

The attack had happened many times before.
As soon as he became a witness in the Raju Pal murder case, the Atiq gang started looking at him from the eyes of the enemy. There were several attempts to attack but they escaped. Umesh was abducted on 28 February 2008. He was assaulted. Threatened, will be killed if testified. Later, when he was released, he lodged a report against many of the gang including Atiq, Ashraf.

Even after this, the Atiq gang kept following Umesh. On July 11, 2016, Umesh went to the court to testify. He was fatally attacked in the court premises itself. Umesh lodged a report against Atiq, Ashraf and all the people of the gang. Both the cases are now going on in the court. On Thursday, Umesh lodged a third FIR against the Atiq gang. Apart from this, in 2022, an FIR was registered for threatening to kill the people and in another case.

There has also been an attempt to implicate him in the murder.
The Atik gang not only attacked and threatened Umesh but also got him named in the case of Jitendra Patel’s murder in Dhumanganj in 2016. However, Umesh was acquitted in the investigation.
Umesh Pal was admitted to Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in an injured condition. The crowd present on the spot.
