Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone-Starrer Pathaan Gets UA Certificate, Besharam Rang Close-Up Sh

New Delhi: The Central Board of Film Certification granted ‘Pathaan’, starring Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan, a UA certificate as it prepares for release. Ten cuts to the spy thriller were made based on suggestions from the CBFC. A few dialogue changes were made, as well as the close-up shots of leading actor Deepika Padukone were cut from the film.

Details of the ten cuts suggested by the CBFC that have been incorporated into ‘Pathaan’s final cut for theatrical release were revealed in a Bollywood Hungama report.

The song ‘Besharam Rang’ underwent three changes. The side pose (partial nudity), close-up buttocks shots, and sensual dance movements during the lyrics of ‘Bahut tang kiya’ were altered or cut, and “suitable shots” were added in their stead.

The word “RAW” was changed to “Hamare,” and “Langde Lulle” was dropped in favour of “Toote Foote.” In 13 different places, the words “PMO” and “PM” were changed to “President” or “Minister,” respectively. The word “Ashok Chakra” was altered to “Veer Puraskar,” and the word “Mrs. Bharatmata” was changed to “Hamari Bharatmata.” The word “scotch” was changed to “drink” in one of the lines, and a mention to Russia was also dropped.

A picture of the CBFC certificate outlining the cuts is also making the rounds online, but its validity is unconfirmed.

Meanwhile, during the promotion of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film “Pathaan,” a group of Bajrang Dal members broke into a mall in Ahmedabad and caused extensive damage. In a video of their protest, the workers can be seen causing damage to the mall’s property.

Directed by Sidharth Malhotra, ‘Pathaan’ also stars John Abraham alongside Deepika and Shah Rukh Khan. The film is set for a release on January 25.
