Modi inaugurates a bunch of railway projects

Vainchi-Shaktigarh third line will be inaugurated. 405 crores of which has been made. Dankuni-Chandanpur fourth line (built at a cost of Tk 565 crore), Nimitita-New Farakka double line (cost Tk 254 crore) and Ambari will inaugurate Phalakata-New Mainaguri-Gumanihat doubling project (built at a cost of Tk 1,080 crore). Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the renovation of New Jalpaiguri station. The cost is estimated to be more than 335 crore rupees.

The long wait is coming to an end for Behala residents. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the metro of Joka-Taratala section of Joka-Esplanade Metro Project (Purple Line). The 6.5 km stretch has a total of six stations – Joka, Thakurpukur, Sakherbazar, Behala Chowrasta, Behala Bazar and Taratala. The cost is Rs 2,475 crore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to launch the Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Bandh Bharat Express from Howrah station on Friday (December 30). Which is going to be the seventh Vande Bharat Express of the country. As per the schedule, six days a week will run between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri. Bharat Express will run every day except Wednesday. It will stop at three stations – Bolpur Santiniketan, Malda Town and Barsoi Junction. However, Modi will probably start India in a virtual shutdown as his mother has passed away.
