A case of molestation and assault of a 22-year-old girl came to light in Jaipur. Some miscreants stopped the girl on the middle of the road and started molesting her. When he protested, he broke a bottle of liquor on his head. After this, many girls of the hostel came out on the road. Amidst the rain, the Jaipur-Bharatpur highway was blocked. The incident happened on Saturday night near Premnagar Pulia in Kanota police station area.
It is Saturday night around 8:30 with a student living in the hostel. A girl coming to the hostel after studying from the library was molested and beaten up. Three miscreants riding bikes blocked his way.
His mobile was snatched. Tore his clothes. He tried to force her to sit on the bike with him. On shouting of the girl, the miscreants hit a bottle of liquor on her head. She bled. The miscreants then fled from the spot, leaving the girl in an injured condition.
The girls of the hostel blocked the Jaipur-Bharatpur highway as soon as they got information about the assault on the girl on Saturday night near Premnagar culvert in Kanota police station area.
Jaipur-Agra highway jammed
On getting information about the incident, hundreds of hostel girls reached the spot and with the help of dial 108 sent the injured girl to SMS hospital. There was tremendous outrage among all the girls including the hostel warden regarding the incident. In no time, the girls blocked the Jaipur-Agra highway near the Premnagar culvert. There was a jam on the highway for half an hour.
Girls did not leave the spot
Kanota police station reached the spot. Tried to convince the girls. Despite the heavy rain, the girls stood on the spot. The police forcibly dragged the girls out of the way. The whole matter calmed down around 10 pm.
In the midst of heavy rain, the girls of the hostel sat on the road. The police tried to convince them.
Girls said – molesting happens every day
The girls allege that the incidents of molestation of girls and now assault have started happening around the hostel. In this regard, several times a written complaint was given to the Kanota police station. Even after that there is no police presence here. Nor is there any fear of the police among the miscreants.
The girls alleged that there is a crowd of boys around the hostel and incidents of molestation take place. Despite several complaints to the police, no action was taken.
Kanota CI Arun Poonia said that the girls suddenly blocked the highway on Saturday night. On getting information, police reached the spot. explained to the girls. After that they were removed. On the complaint of the girls, a case of molestation, assault, kidnapping has been registered against unknown miscreants.
