Calcutta HC judge encourages reporters to videograph the court proceedings

In an unprecedented move, Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay of the Calcutta HC today encouraged journalists to videograph the proceedings being conducted by him in the West Bengal teacher recruitment scam. This led to an exchange of harsh words between the lawyers and the judge where one lawyer told the judge that “he shouldn’t turn the courtroom into a bazaar”. Justice Gangopadhyay had yesterday asked six people to appear before him including Anubrata Mondal’s daughter Sukanya. All six persons were asked to present their TET certificates and their appointment letters before the Court. The matter will now be heard on Sept 1.
