Bus overturns on Rishikesh-Shivpuri route, VIDEO: Brake failed after colliding with pole; A female passenger died in an accident

A horrifying video of a bus overturning on the Rishikesh-Shivpuri route has surfaced. The incident is of Muniki Reti police station area, where a bus going towards Neelkanth Mahadev of Rishikesh overturned uncontrollably at 5 pm on Thursday. One female passenger died in the accident, more than 15 passengers were injured.

The name of the female passenger who died is said to be Indu Devi, a resident of Majua in Ballia. The bus was to come to Muniki Reti parking via Bhadrakali. Suddenly the brake of the bus failed ahead of Bhadrakali.

SSI Ramesh Kumar Saini said that all the passengers on the bus have suffered injuries in this accident. All have been sent for treatment to a nearby hospital. From there 8 people have been referred to the Higher Center AIIMS.

Bus uncontrollable after brake failure
According to the information, there were 65 passengers in the bus, which came from Ballia in Uttar Pradesh. Then the brake of the bus near the saline source failed. After brake failure, the bus first hit a pole, then hit a mountain. After hitting the mountain, the bus started swaying uncontrollably on the road. Soon the bus overturned at the PWD intersection. Police and locals barely pulled out the passengers and got them admitted to the nearby government hospital.
