New trend of tourism in Kashmir: Government set up tent colonies due to hotel being full, 25 thousand tents will be set up in 2 months

In view of the huge influx of tourists in Kashmir, tent colonies have started settling. There are about 50 thousand rooms in the hotels of the valley, which are running full. Hotels of many tourist destinations have 100% advance booking till October. In view of this, the government has planned to set up 25,000 tents. 3,000 tents have been set up.

The tourism department says that all tents will be set up in the next two months. These tents are equipped with modern facilities. These are being built in beautiful places, in meadows or on river banks. It has facilities like washroom, kitchen.

Tents are more economical than hotels

The maximum fare for one night stay in a luxury tent is Rs. 3 thousand. up to Rs.500, while a normal tent costs Rs.500. are meeting in.

There are also many tourist places in the valley where hotels are negligible. Like in Kupwara district there is no hotel in Bangus Ghati near LOC. That’s why 70 tents have been set up there. Earlier tourists could not stop here. Similarly, tents have been set up in Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Kangan, Pahalgam, Tangmarg, Mamar, Gurez, Bandipora etc.

Record tourists arrived in Kashmir this year
From January 1 to June 30, more than one million tourists reached the valley. Never before had so many tourists come in just 6 months.
