Uttar Pradesh (Uttar Pradesh) And in a village situated on the border of Madhya Pradesh, people have a serious problem of water. (Water Crisis) are struggling with. The name of this village is Lahuria Dah. The villagers here are forced to drink water leaking from the mountains even in the month of July. Every day to quench their thirst, the women of the village had to carry water from about three kilometers away. Drinking water was supplied to the villagers here through tankers. Here water was supplied by five to six tankers every day, but the water supply company has stopped supplying water if the administration has owed lakhs of rupees.

This story is of Lahuriyadah village, situated on the plateau, about 70 km from the district headquarters. This village comes under Deohat Gram Sabha of Recent Block. The total population here will be around one and a half thousand. This village is situated at a high altitude, due to which even deep boring is not successful here. The water level remains down. If seen, the residents here live on the help of tanker water for twelve months of the year. However, they get some relief due to rain during monsoon. Most of the people here work as cattle herders or truck drivers.

Officers are not doing any hearing – village head

Two companies were given a contract to supply water, which used to supply water to the village by taking water from Dramanganj market under the mountain. For which Rs 700 was given per tanker and five to six tankers used to supply water daily. Village head Kushal Gupta told that two firms were given the work of supplying water, the payment of which was to be done by the Gram Sabha, but the last five year and this five year together have about 27 lakh rupees left, due to which the company is supplying water. is not doing. Pradhan said that the water supply has been disrupted for the last several days. There is no money in the account of Gram Sabha. Have told the officials many times but there is no hearing.

Villagers say that due to the high demand for water in the month of May-June, people here used to get water only after showing the slip. That too only a bucket to a man. That’s why we all have to bring water from far away. Also told that this problem is not of today, we are battling this problem for decades. DPRO Arvind Kumar said that there was a problem in supply due to lack of funds. Some solution will be worked out soon, as there is no separate fund for water supply. The money for water supply was being given from the development money of Gram Sabha. However, Arvind said that only Jal Nigam can find a permanent solution for this.

Neither the project started nor did every house get the benefit of the tap scheme.

Let us tell you that the Jal Nigam has constructed water tanks and tube wells at a cost of crores, but still it remains incomplete. If this tubewell works, then the water crisis here can be overcome to some extent, but the fund which was allocated for the tank was spent at another place. The funds did not come again, so the tank could not be started. Jal Nigam Executive Engineer Sandeep Singh said that this village was not even linked to the scheme, as a project was already allotted. The tank could not be started due to his fund transfer. Funds have been requested. Hope the problem will be resolved soon. In such a situation, the hope of the villagers was also lost. Neither the project started, nor will they get the benefit of Har Ghar Nal Yojana.

If there is a drought, there will be a water crisis

If we talk about Mirzapur district of Vindhya region, then in more than 150 villages of Rajgarh, Halia, Lalganj, Patehra, Sikhar block, the water level goes down considerably in summer and water stops coming out. People wait that if the monsoon comes, then there will be good rain and the water level will come up. But this time even after the 15th of July, there has been no good rain. The rivers, streams, ponds are all dry. In such a situation, if there is a drought, then in the coming year there may be a catastrophe for water.
