The ED has appealed to the UAE government to monitor the activities of Trinamool leader Abhishek Banerjee, who is accused of coal and cattle smuggling. Abhishek went to Dubai on Friday to undergo eye treatment. Ignoring ED’s objections, the Calcutta High Court allowed him to travel to Dubai. Despite the ED’s claim, Abhishek is going to meet Amir Shahi to meet Binoy Mishra, who is accused of returning from cattle smuggling.
According to ED sources, they have sent a letter to the emirate government through the foreign ministry. It has been reported that there are multiple allegations of corruption in India against Abhishek Banerjee, who is based in Dubai. Investigators have questioned him and his wife. He went to Dubai in the name of seeing an eye doctor. The clever emir government is monitoring his movements in Dubai.
Though Abhishek was allowed to go to Dubai on Friday, the court imposed several conditions. The judge directed Abhishek to show the plane ticket, the name of the doctor he is going to show and the proof of where he is staying in Dubai.
