Case Against Five Youths For Gang-raping Teenager | Guwahati News – Times of India

GUWAHATI: A case has been registered against five youths for allegedly assaulting and gang-raping a 16-year-old girl and filming the incident in Garigaon area here on February 19. The incident came to light on Friday.
The case has been registered against all the five accused at the all women’s police station (AWPS) in Panbazar on the basis of an FIR filed by the victim’s family on Tuesday after they learnt about the incident from the girl.
Bhanita Nath, assistant commissioner of police of AWPS, said, “The case has been registered under Sections 376 (D) of the IPC, Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, and 67(B) of the IT Act against the five accused.”
She added, “We have conducted search at the houses of the accused. The accused are currently on the run. We will arrest them soon.”
