PM Sher Bahadur Deuba thanks PM Modi for evacuating Nepali nationals from Ukraine

Russia-Ukraine war news latest updates: Nepalese PM Sher Bahadur Deuba thanked PM Narendra Modi for rescuing Napalese nationals from war-torn Ukraine.

Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba expressed his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for assisting in repatriation of his country’s nationals under ‘Operation Ganga’.

Taking to Twitter, PM Sher Bahadur Deuba said, “Four Nepali nationals have just arrived in Nepal from Ukraine via India. Thank you Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Government of India for the assistance in repatriating Nepali nationals through Operation Ganga.”

India has brought back around 18,000 Indians under ‘Operation Ganga’ which was launched on February 26, two days after Russia announced war on Ukraine.

The Indian government has also helped in evacuation of other nationals. Earlier, India rescued nine Bangladeshis, along with Nepali and Tunisian nationals from war-torn Ukraine.

The Indian Embassy in Kyiv has also helped evacuate a Pakistani girl from the conflict zone. The Pakistani girl, identified as Asma Shafique, later thanked the Indian Embassy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for helping her escape a “very difficult situation”.

In a video, she said, “I’m very thankful to the Embassy of India in Kyiv for supporting us all the way here as we were stuck in a very difficult situation. I am also thanking the Prime Minister of India. Hope we get home safely, thanks to the Indian Embassy.”
