Congress’s Khadur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency MP and brother of senior leader Jasbir Singh Dimpa Harpinder Singh alias Rajan Gill on Tuesday filed his nomination as an Indian National Congress (INC) candidate from Khadur Sahib assembly seat. Ramanjit Singh Sikki also filed his nomination as an Indian National Congress (INC) candidate from the same seat. Congress has given ticket to Sikki from here. That is, two people filed their nominations as Congress candidates from one seat. Who will be the official candidate of Congress from here? Now it will be clear after scrutiny of nomination papers.

Dipa met Rahul in Parliament House

Dimpa tried her best to get her brother a party ticket. He also met senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi inside the Parliament House in New Delhi on Tuesday. Posting a photo with Rahul Gandhi on social media, Dimpa wrote, ‘Met Rahul Gandhi ji. During this, discussed with him the current political scenario of the state and the preparations of Congress for the assembly elections in Punjab.

It is being said that in this meeting with Rahul Gandhi, the script was written to replace Sikki with Harpinder Singh, Dimpa’s brother as the party candidate from Khadoor Sahib.

Harpinder said – the talk going on with the high command

Harpinder Singh alias Rajan Gill admitted that he has filed his nomination from Khadoor Sahib seat only as an Indian National Congress (INC) candidate. “I am hopeful that the party will cancel Sikki’s ticket before the scrutiny of nomination papers,” he said. We are in talks with the party high command.

Dimpa wanted her favorite candidate in Khadoor Sahib and Baba Bakala

Jasbir Singh Dimpa wanted tickets for his son Upadesh Gill or brother Harpinder Singh Rajan Gill from Khadoor Sahib seat in Tarn Taran district and his close friend Satinderjit Singh Chajjalwadi from Baba Bakala assembly seat in Amritsar district. However, ignoring Dimpa, the party had given ticket to two-time MLA Ramanjit Singh Sikki from Khadoor Sahib seat. Similarly, ticket was not given to Chhajjalwadi from Baba Bakala seat. Chajjalwadi joined the Akali Dal after not getting a ticket. He was made the party candidate from Jandiala. Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal has fielded its veteran and former MP Ranjit Singh Brahmpura from Khadoor Sahib seat.

Allegations of corruption were leveled against the party

Dipa had openly expressed her anger against the Congress party for not getting a ticket to her son or brother. Dimpa had also said that her brother Harpinder Singh alias Rajan Gill would contest from Khadoor Sahib seat under any circumstances. A day before Rahul’s Punjab tour, Dipa had tweeted alleging corruption against her own party, “What should be done if your party ignores hard work, loyalty and honesty and likes heaps?”
