Based on a popular webtoon of the same title, ‘Delivery Knight’ is helmed by director Jo Ui of ‘Cold Eyes’, ‘Master’ and ‘The World of Silence’. Set against the background of 2071, it focuses on the dystopian future in Korea where pollution becomes so severe that the only way to survive is to have everything delivered to the doorstep as the nation undergoes desertification with only 1% of the humans fighting for survival with respirators. In this scenario, it’s the legendary delivery knight 5-8 who plays a crucial role in the survival of the society with his extraordinary skills, meets refugee Sa Wol.
In the drama, Esom will essay the role of Seol Ah, a determined major of the military intelligence who is Sa Wol’s saviour and wants to become the Minister of National Defense in the future. Kim Woo Bin, on the other hand, will be seen as the legendary delivery knight 5-8 who no one can oppose. On the other hand, Kang You Seok will be stepping in the shoes of legendary 5-8’s rival, Sa Wol who wants to become a delivery knight.
‘Delivery Knight’ marks the second collaboration between Kim Woo Bin and Esom after they starred together in the 2011 drama ‘White Christmas’.
Reportedly the shooting schedule is slated to commence this year, however, there’s no confirmation from the makers. They are also yet to announce the release date officially as the series will premiere on the OTT platform.
