gehlot: ‘If Rajasthan CM not keeping well, why attend press meet?’ | Jaipur News – Times of India

JAIPUR: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot, who reprimanded the media for not wearing masks at a press conference at PCC on Thursday, did not crown himself with glory.
At the start of the press conference, PCC president Govind Singh Dotasra said that the chief minister was not keeping well.
Seizing the issue, BJP spokesperson Ramlal Sharma said the CM, who has been issuing one Covid SOP after another, was not himself following the same.
“If he is not keeping well, why did he attend the media conference and mingle with party workers,” Sharma asked. Within an hour of the press briefing, it was found that the chief minister was positive.
Sharma said the CM had suspected that he had Covid and had given a sample for testing before he came for the press briefing.
“Did the CM give his samples after the press briefing or before,” he asked.
He said Gehlot should have avoided the crowded press conference even if the party chief had insisted.
‘He should isolate himself’
“According to Covid guidelines, if a person suspected of having contracted the virus had given his samples for testing, he should isolate himself till the results come. If the CM himself violates the protocol, how can he expect the people to follow the same,” he asked.
Though Gehlot’s son, Vaibahv Gehlot, had tested positive for Covid, he is not living at the CM’s official residence. The CM had announced the press conference at about 10.30am to speak on the alleged security breach during the prime minister’s visit to Punjab.
