Gujarat: Covid grips school, colleges in Anand | Vadodara News – Times of India

VADODARA: Teachers and students of a school and two colleges tested postive for Covid-19 in Anand district. The educaion institutes had to be shut down in wake of the development.
A secondary school in Sunav village of Petlad taluka in Anand district was closed for 15 days after four of its teachers tested postive of the virus. The health department has collected samples of other staffers in the school.
In Anand town, one student each of a physiotherapy and an arts college tested positive. Both the colleges were shut down as a precautionary measure. Extensive testing was conducted in these colleges to trace any more infected persons.
Anand district reported 14 new positive cases on Thursday. These include 12 from Anand taluka and one each from Petlad and Umreth talukas. After the discharge of seven patients on Thursday, the district now has 67 active cases. Fifteen patients are in hospitals, while the others are in home isolation.
