The farmers who brought the central government on the back foot by agitating on the Delhi border have jumped into the politics of Punjab. Out of 32 organizations of Punjab that were part of United Kisan Morcha, 25 have announced to contest the elections. After which the remaining 7 organizations have opposed it. Due to this, the United Kisan Morcha in Punjab has been torn apart.

At the same time, BJP leaders said that they were already saying that farmers are doing politics. There was no issue of the farmer returning the agricultural law. BJP leader Surjit Jyani said that the farmers’ organizations were adamant only with the question of moustache. Withdrawing the agriculture law did no good to the farmers.

Cleanliness of SKM, we are not contesting elections, don’t use names

Even before the announcement of the farmers’ organizations of Punjab, the United Kisan Morcha (SKM) has made it clear that it will not contest the elections. He also asked the farmer leaders contesting the elections not to use the name of United Kisan Morcha. This information was given by the 9 Member Coordination Committee of the Front and the farmers’ leaders of Punjab Darshan Pal and Jagjit Singh Dallewal. He said that SKM is the front of more than 400 organizations across the country. He said that the front has another meeting on January 15, in which the rest of the demands will be discussed.

Billions of rupees fund was collected in the movement, fighting elections with it: Valtoha

Akali leader Virsa Singh Valtoha said that billions of rupees have been collected in the farmers’ movement. Because of that farmer leaders are contesting elections. He said that where did the funds collected from Punjab and NRIs go to the agitation, its account would be sought. He said that we will surround the farmer leaders and ask them to give account of the money received in the movement. He said that only 6 crores is being talked about coming in the movement, in that also 5 crores is being talked about. Farmer leaders should tell where this money was spent.
