BJP and TMC face to face
The KMC elections on Sunday turned out to be a nosebleed for the BJP, as the BJP was demanding a civic polls amid the deployment of central forces. The BJP had approached the High Court to the Supreme Court for this, but the party was disappointed. On the other hand, the ruling party TMC faces the challenge of retaining victory in the municipal elections. However, the side of TMC chief and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee seems to be strong in the municipal elections. Even before this, the Trinamool Congress has waved the flag of victory in the assembly elections. While the TMC had won all 17 seats in Kolkata, it maintained its dominance in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as well.
