Priyanka Chopra is on a roll as she is busy with back-to-back promotions of The Matrix Resurrection. She stars alongside Keanu Reeves, Jada Pinkett Smith, Carrie Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Neil Patrick Harris and Jonathan Groff in the much-anticipated installment of the iconic franchise. Priyanka was welcomed as a special guest in the latest episode of daytime show The View.
During her appearance, the hosts of the show asked her about her handling of traveling and shooting once the pandemic-induced lockdown is lifted. Priyanka recalled a special incident when she was on her way from Los Angeles to Berlin to shoot for the fourth chapter of The Matrix. She shared that it was terrifying to go back to work after being indoors for almost six months. Priyanka, herself suffering from asthma and her husband Nick Jonas suffering from diabetes, initially objected to working amid the ongoing pandemic.
He said that according to the demand of the job, he has to take off the mask on the set. The star recalled that she was crying during the trip and her co-star Jada was on the same flight. Priyanka remembered how Jaida had comforted her by holding her hand. “She was just such a leader. She took my hand and she was like, ‘We’re going to do this together.’ She is a boss, I love her,” said Priyanka about Jada.
Talking about her experience working with some of the greatest people in the business, especially Keanu, Priyanka found herself feeling sad and depressed on the first day of the shoot of The Resurrection. During the show, the actress revealed that sometimes it is important to get reassurance from a colleague on a bad day. Just then, a ‘clever’ Keanu came up to him and shared some of the most encouraging words. He told her that “it was a tough day but you did really well.”
The Matrix Resurrection, directed by Lana Wachowski, is set to hit theaters on December 22 and HBO Max.
