Directed by Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrwes, Deva marks the first on-screen collaboration of Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde.
The shooting for Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde starrer action-thriller film Deva is finally completed. Directed by Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrwes, known for his films like Udayananu Tharam, Notebook and Salute, the film is backed by Roy Kapur films. Deva will hit theatres on the occasion of Valentine’s Day 2025.
Taking to Instagram, on Tuesday, the makers of Deva dropped a picture in which Shahid and Pooja along with other team members are seen cutting a cake. “And it’s a wrap! Get ready to witness Deva’s electrifying action and thrill soon. #SongWrap #Deva in cinemas on 14 February 2025,” they noted.
Apart from this, the Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan actress shared a picture of a handwritten message she received from the makers of Deva, complimenting the actress for her performance and dedication to the film. The note read, “Hi Pooja, A heartfelt thank you for your incredible work and presence on our film! Your talent and dedication brought so much life to the set and it truly shows in the film!” Shine on, Lots of love, Malvika.”
Replying to the note, Pooja wrote in the caption, “The Sweetest. Thank you @roykapurfilms #DEVA #itsawrap” Pooja also posted a video from the cake-cutting ceremony from the sets of Deva featuring herself along with Shahid and other team members. She captioned the video, “We’re a Junglee lot #Deva.”
In an official statement, the producers stated the action spectacular film concluded with a high-energy song scene choreographed by Bosco Martis and shot over four days in Mumbai.
In Deva, Shahid will reportedly portray the role of a cop delving into a high-profile case. As he digs deeper, he uncovers a complex web of deceit and betrayal. Pooja will be seen playing the role of a journalist. Deva marks Shahid and Pooja’s first on-screen collaboration. Earlier, the film was slated to hit the theatres on October 11.
Shahid will also be seen in Pooja Entertainment’s Ashwatthama: The Saga Continues which will be helmed by Sachin Ravi. Pooja, on the other hand, will also be seen in the tentatively titled film Suriya 44 alongside South superstar Suriya. The film is directed by Karthik Subbaraj.
