BMW has introduced the most expensive scooter in India in form of the CE 04 and this futuristic looking scooter is also the most expensive at Rs 14.9 lakh! But why so? The CE 04 is an electric scooter and its space-age design could be a reason as it looks more like a spaceship rather than a conventional scooter.

It is a compact design but comes with sharp surfaces all round while the base variant comes in Light White colour and the optional Avantgarde style is available in Imperial blue metallic colour.

The specifications include a liquid-cooled electric motor which produces 42 hp (31 kW) and it is a permanent magnet electric motor. The motor is mounted between the battery and the rear wheel as like on their cars while a 0-50 km/h time is dealt in 2.6 seconds.

Top-speed is 120 km/h while an 8.5 kWh battery pack has a range of 130 kms. The range is decent for being an inter city scooter of sorts.

If we look at the specs, there are cheaper electric two-wheelers with more power and range while here, it is about the design and the exclusivity for which you pay for.

In terms of quality or design, this scooter is unlike anything else but it is priced on the higher side for sure. Hence, while it looks interesting, it is unclear as to how many would be sold as it is a niche segment for now at this price.
