26 pilgrims died in a bus accident on the way to Yamunotri during Chardham in Uttarakhand. Among them, there were 25 pilgrims from Panna district of Madhya Pradesh. The last rites of all the pilgrims took place on Tuesday. Among the dead were 9 couples, who were cremated on 9 pyres. 8 people were from Santa, 2 Powai, 2 Simaria, 1 Chikhla, 4 Mohandra, 2 Kunwarpur, 2 Koni, 1 Kakarhata, 2 Udla village among the dead.

The most touching scene is of Buddha Singh Sata of Simaria area. There is mourning due to the death of 8 people here. As soon as 6 meanings of the Dwivedi family arose at 8 am on Tuesday, every eye filled with tears. Children losing their mother and father, the head of the household, are in shock. Three couples of Dwivedi family of Sata were involved in this yatra. The pyres of the three couples were lit together.

Yogesh Dwivedi of Buddh Singh Sata village told that first of all the villagers paid tribute to Dr. Saheb Rajaram Singh, his wife Geeta Singh and performed the last rites. After this, 6 people of Dwivedi family reached Mukti Dham near the confluence of Sonar Berma river and performed the last rites. Ved Narayan told that four pyres were made for 6 people. In the first pyre, Dinesh Prasad Dwivedi, wife Prabha Dwivedi, his mother in the second pyre, cousin Hari Narayan Dwivedi, his wife Hari Bai, brother Rupnarayan in the fourth pyre were cremated.

With great hopes, the children had sent their relatives on a pilgrimage. Some of them had parents, some had elder brothers and sisters-in-law. Little did he know that this would be his last journey. If someone took a loan, the villagers raised donations for some. Now there is only pain, tears and mourning all around.

The bodies were brought late on Monday evening

The mortal remains of the pilgrims reached Khajuraho Airport by Air Force aircraft at around 7.30 pm on Monday. State BJP President VD Sharma sent the dead bodies to 9 villages by keeping them in different vehicles from here. This accident has snatched the shadow of elders from the heads of many families. All the deceased were residents of nine villages of Powai assembly. Now there is silence in these villages. There is a sad story in every house.

Due to the death of 8 people simultaneously, there was mourning in Sata. In this misery, most of the houses here did not light the stove during the day. Preparations were going on for the son’s wedding procession at Phula Varman’s house, but there was no enthusiasm in the marriage house either. Deshraj Varman, the groom, was evicted without any music.
