A total of 34 ministers are to be inducted in the Karnataka cabinet. So far only 8 have been included.

All the nine ministers who took oath in the Siddaramaiah cabinet in Karnataka on May 20 have criminal cases registered against them. Maximum 19 cases are registered against Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and 13 cases against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Not only this, all these ministers are also millionaires. This information has been given in Karnataka Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) report.

This report has been prepared on the basis of affidavits of nine ministers of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s government. All nine ministers have also given information about criminal cases against them. Four of these have serious criminal cases registered against them.

These are the 9 ministers of Siddaramaiah cabinet
On May 20, the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister and 9 cabinet ministers took place in Karnataka. In which DK Shivakumar was made deputy CM. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot administered the oath to all of them. CM Siddaramaiah belongs to Kuruba and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar comes from Vokkaliga community.

Besides these, Dr. G Parameshwara, KH Muniyappa, Priyank Kharge are from SC. Satish Jarkiholi belongs to ST, MB Patil belongs to Lingayat community, KG George Christian, Zameer Ahmed Khan belongs to Muslim and Ramalinga Reddy Reddy community.

Shivkumar is the richest, Priyank Kharge has the least assets

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar is the richest cabinet minister as he has declared total assets of Rs 1413.80 crore. While Priyank Kharge, son of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, is the minister with the least declared total assets. Chittapur MLA Priyank has assets worth only Rs 16.83 crore. The average assets of these ministers is Rs 229.27 crore.

The report also mentions the liabilities of all the nine ministers. Among them, the person with the highest liability is DK Shivkumar, MLA from Kanakapura. He has liabilities of 265.06 crores.

There is no information about KJ George in the report. The details of their clear and complete affidavits were not available on the website of the Election Commission of India. That’s why their data analysis could not be done.

3 out of 9 ministers have only school education
According to ADR report, 3 out of 9 ministers in Siddaramaiah cabinet have only school education. These three are from 8th pass to 12th pass. While six ministers have done graduation or more. In the affidavits, five ministers have given their age between 41 and 60 years, while four ministers have given their age between 61 and 80 years. The report also pointed out that there is no woman minister in the new cabinet of Karnataka.

The results of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections came on 13 May. Congress won 135 out of 224 seats, BJP 66 and JDS 19 seats. After the results came, the churning continued for five days in the Congress regarding the post of CM. There was a claim between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar. The high command chose Siddaramaiah. Sonia Gandhi convinced DK for Deputy CM.

DK will become CM after the Lok Sabha elections
Shivakumar has agreed to the 50-50 formula. Siddaramaiah will be the CM for the first two and a half years and DK for the next two and a half years. Means DK will become the Chief Minister in 2025 after the Lok Sabha elections. However, who will be the Congress state president of Karnataka then, its name is yet to be decided.
