Ranveer Singh is super thrilled today as his much-awaited and much-talked-about film ’83 has finally hit the theatres. While his film has been receiving rave reviews from the audience and the critics alike, the actor took to his Twitter handle to share a picture of his mother holding an actual world cup.

Kabir Khan’s sports drama stars Ranveer Singh in the role of Kapil Dev. It also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Harrdy Sandhu as Madan Lal, Ammy Virk as Balwinder Sandhu, Sahil Khattar as Syed Kirmani, Chirag Patil as Sandeep Patil, Adinath Kothare as Dilip Vengsarkar, Dinker Sharma as Kirti Azad, Dhairya Karwa as Ravi Shastri, Jiiva as Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Jatin Sarna as Yashpal Sharma, Nishant Dahiya as Roger Binny and R Badree as Sunil Valson.

Deepika Padukone, who essays the role of Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Dev in the movie, has also co-produced the film. ’83 was supposed to hit the theatres last year. However, it got delayed owing to the pandemic. The film not only traces the journey of the players who overcame all odds to win the World Cup, but also sheds light on the behind-the-scenes stories of the cricketers, their families and more.
