The new Parliament building built under the Central Vista Project is the dream project of the Prime Minister. Its construction started in January 2021 and was completed in 28 months.

On May 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new building of Parliament. A total of 9 opposition parties have decided not to participate in the program by boycotting it. These include Mamata Banerjee’s TMC, Arvind Kejriwal’s (AAP), NCP, DMK, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s RJD, Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction), CPI, CPI(M) and VCK.
