Earlier today, ADG Jitendra Singh Gangwar has said that spirit was brought from Kolkata to make sanitizer, and liquor was made from the same.
Police have so far arrested 16 people in the case. Forensic team from Patna has also reached Bala village. The team has taken samples of liquor thrown in the field.

5 died since Monday morning, road jammed in the evening
Most of the cases of spurious liquor are in Bala and Bhopatpur villages of Lakdi Naviganj OP police station area of the district. Suddenly patients started coming to Sadar Hospital one by one on Sunday evening. One person died while reaching the hospital late in the evening. Two more people died in the night. Since Monday morning till now 5 people lost their lives. Social media and people of the village say that the death toll is more than 8. More than 70 deaths had taken place in Chhapra 41 days ago.

At present, the condition of 14 people is critical after drinking spurious liquor. 2 people are undergoing treatment in Siwan. The remaining 12 people have been referred. 3 people have been brought to Gorakhpur and 9 to Patna for treatment.
Here in the evening, the relatives of the victims blocked the Siwan-Patna main road by keeping the dead bodies on the road. Arson was also done. Angry people kept demanding compensation. However, later on the persuasion of the head of the panchayat, the people ended the jam. The jam lasted for about half an hour. Due to this, traffic between Patna to Siwan and Gopalganj was affected for some time.

Sohela Devi told that husband Dhuredhar Manjhi had returned home after drinking alcohol on Sunday night. During this time his health started deteriorating. Eyes started turning red. He could not see. After this, he was taken to Lakki Nabiganj Hospital. From there he was sent to Siwan Hospital. After which he died in Amnaur while being taken to Patna at around 12 midnight. Dhuredhar has three small children.
