- Delhi Airport Smuggling; Expensive Watches Seize By Customs Officials | Delhi News

The Customs Department on Thursday recovered 7 valuable watches from a smuggler from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. Their cost is around 28 crores. One of these watches is made of diamond, which is worth 27 crores. This watch is from Jacob & Co. Apart from this, a Rolex watch, bracelet and iPhone 14 Pro have also been seized.
IGI Airport Customs Commissioner Zubair Riaz Kamili said that the passenger had reached Delhi airport from Dubai to deliver the watch. No documents related to the goods were found from him. That’s why he has been arrested.
The value of this diamond watch seized at Delhi Airport is being told more than 27 crores.
Accused’s expensive watches showroom in Dubai
Zubair Riaz told that the accused has a showroom of expensive watches in Dubai. There are also showroom branches in many cities of UAE. According to the commissioner, the accused had come to Delhi to deliver to a high-profile client. The client is a resident of Gujarat.
The customs department has also recovered a Rolex watch worth more than 15 lakhs.
The accused told during interrogation that the client had called to meet him at a five star hotel in Delhi, but he did not reach. The accused is in danger of life, so he has not given much information about the client. According to the commissioner, this smuggling is equivalent to smuggling about 60 kg of gold.
