66% Of State’s New Cases Are From City | Vadodara News – Times of India

AHMEDABAD: The city on Saturday reported 31 new Covid cases, the highest number for eight days. As Gujarat recorded 47 cases, the city accounted for two-thirds or 66% of the state’s cases.
Gujarat did not report any Covid death for the fourth consecutive day.
With these cases, discharges also slowed down in Gujarat, with 53 on Saturday, implying a reduction by just six in active cases, taking the number to 560. Of these, 182 (32.5%) are in Ahmedabad and 125 (22%) in Vadodara. Seven patients need ventilator support.
“Hospitalization for Covid is at an all-time low, with just one or two patients needing medical attention. The majority of patients get cured in two-three days with mild symptoms,” said a city-based physician, adding that masks are still preferable.
Gujarat in the last 24 hours administered first doses of Covid vaccine to 10,763 persons, and second doses to 50,480.
In all, 5.21 crore persons have received at least their first dose and 4.95 crore have had their second dose.
The state has also administered 8,344 booster doses.
