50 cases, but no deaths on fifth consecutive day | Nagpur News – Times of India

Nagpur: Out of 5,709 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, Vidarbha region reported 50 new cases.
One again, for the sixth day in a row, less than 1% tests were positive. On the other hand, 58 patients recovered.
Almost similar number of new cases and recoveries indicate that the Covid case graph has now touched the baseline and the downfall will continue henceforth at slow pace. The sharp southward movement of the Covid graph has stopped which indicates that the wave has gone.
No death due to Covid was reported on Tuesday in Vidarbha. This was the fifth consecutive day that no patient died of Covid in the region.
Gondia and Gadchiroli reported zero cases in the last 24 hours. The other districts, barring Nagpur (20), reported just a single digit increase in new cases. Now only 245 patients are under treatment in Vidarbha. Out of them, 113 are in Nagpur district alone which means the other 10 districts have only 132 patients. Gondia is all set to become the first Covid free district in Vidarbha after the third wave. On Tuesday, only 1 ‘active case’ remained in the district. Bhandara (8), Wardha (9) and Yavatmal (5) are the three districts with less than 10 ‘active cases’. Most of the under-treatment patients are recovering in home isolation.
In Nagpur, 1,946 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. Out of them, 20 tested positive. On Tuesday, Nagpur rural (12) had major a share in cases while Nagpur city reported 7 cases only. One patient was from other state/division. Out of 37 recoveries, 26 were from city, 7 from rural and 4 from other states. Nagpur has 113 patients under treatment with 67 in city, and 45 in rural.
Akola: Total 129 tests were conducted in the district in the last 24 hours. Out of them 3 tested positive. As no patient recovered in a day, the total number of ‘active cases’ increased to 15 on Tuesday.
Washim: Two new cases and a recovery were reported in a day in Washim. Now the district has 14 patients under treatment.
Buldhana: 10 out of 223 tests were positive in Buldhana while 5 patients recovered in a day. Now, the district has 42 patients under treatment.
Gadchiroli: All the 576 tests conducted in the last 24 hours resulted in negative. On the other hand, 11 patients recovered. Now, only 15 patients are under treatment.
Gondia: Zero cases were reported while 1 out of the 2 under treatment patients recovered on Tuesday. Gondia now has only 1 patient of Covid and the patient is recovering in home isolation.
Bhandara: Total 651 tests were conducted and 2 of them were positive on Tuesday. As no recovery was reported, Bhandara now has 8 patients under-treatment.
Yavatmal: The district reported just one new positive patient during the last 24 hours, keeping the toll unchanged at 1,803. Currently, there are five active positive patients and they are in home quarantine. The administration received 265 reports of which just one was found positive.
Of the 79,064 positive, 77,256, including one on Tuesday, have recovered.
The test positivity rate is 9.33%, death rate 2.28% and daily positivity rate 0.38%.
The district has 1,766 beds for Covid patients.
Amravati: After drawing blank for the past two days, the district reported four new cases on Tuesday, taking the caseload to 1,05,926. Though there were no deaths, the number of active cases under treatment went up to ten. With just one recovery, the total reached 1,04,292.
Chandrapur: Six detections out of 941 tests as against two recoveries took the active patient figure to 13 on Tuesday. There was no casualty reported during the day. The caseload has risen to 98,949, which includes 97,639 recoveries and 1,567 deaths. The health administration conducted 8,84,082 tests so far and out of these 7,83,609 tests have been found negative.
Wardha: Two more tested positive from 339 reports on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 58,098 and active positive cases to 9 as no new recovery was reported. The total recoveries and toll remained unchanged at 57,126 and 1,351 respectively as no new death was reported in the district in the last 24 hours.
