5 held for stealing tractor trolley in Gr Noida | Noida News – Times of India

Noida: Five miscreants who stole a tractor trolley after offering its driver a sedative-laced drink in Greater Noida have been arrested, police said on Saturday.
The accused have been identified as Sher Singh (21), Mahtab (30), Monu Kumar (36), all residents of Auraiya, and Kanhaiya (36) and Hari Shankar (27), originally from Kanpur and Mathura, respectively.
In his complaint in July, vehicle owner Ranpal Bhati, a resident of Kasna, claimed that he got a booking for his tractor-trolley from a person over the phone. The caller allegedly told him that some of his goods had to be transported from Etcher to the Kasna area of Greater Noida.
“I had sent my driver, Sunny, with the tractor. Later when I tried reaching out to the caller, his number was switched off. I suspected something fishy and reached the spot only to find my driver in an unconscious state in Etcher. Later Sunny told me that the miscreants gave him an aerated drink,” he said.
“Our probe revealed that the tractor trolley driver was offered aerated drink laced with sedatives by the accused. They then stole his tractor,” said Sudhir Kumar, SHO of Kasna police station.
“The five were arrested on a tip-off about their movement in the Kasna area. Two countrymade pistols, two knives and a stolen mobile phone were seized from their possession,” the SHO said.
A case under sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison) and 379 (theft) of IPC was registered against the three at Kasna police station. The five were produced in a court and sent to judicial custody.
