Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police are running joint operation in Jumagund area adjacent to LOC.

Five foreign terrorists were killed in an encounter between the army and terrorists in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

Jammu and Kashmir ADGP Vijay Kumar told that the search operation is going on in the area. This is the first major infiltration bid in Kupwara sector this year.

The Kashmir Zone Police tweeted that the police had received input about infiltration of terrorists in the Jumagund area adjacent to the LOC in Kupwara district.

After this, the combined team of army and police killed these five terrorists in the search operation. The search operation is still going on.

2 terrorists were killed on 13 June
Earlier on June 13, two terrorists were killed in a joint operation by the army and police in the Dobnar Machhal area along the LoC in Kupwara district itself.
