Do you wish to exchange your ₹2000 notes? Here’s a step-by-step guide for you

According to the Reserve Bank of India, the facility for depositing or exchanging Rs 2000 banknotes will be available to the public until September 30, 2023.

1. To exchange your Rs 2000 note, simply visit any bank branch near you. 
2. Carry necessary documents, such as valid identity proof and your bank account details.
3. Approach the Exchange Counter or inquire with the bank staff where you can exchange the notes. 
4. Provide your ID and bank details.
5. Once the bank personnel authenticate the notes, they will provide you with the equivalent value in lower denomination banknotes, such as Rs 500, Rs 200 or Rs 100

Remember, the RBI has allowed all banks to exchange Rs 2000 banknotes up to a limit of Rs 20,000 at a time.

Business Correspondents (BCs) can exchange notes up to a limit of Rs 4000 per day for an account holder.

For Jan Dhan Yojna Accounts, the usual limits will apply and banks are encouraged to make special arrangements to minimize inconvenience for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and women seeking to exchange or deposit Rs 2000 notes.
