4 new Omicron cases detected in Delhi, total rises to 10

With 4 new cases of the Omicron variant of coronavirus detected on Thursday, the total number of patients for the supervariant has risen to 10.

Four more Covid patients were diagnosed with the Omicron variant of coronavirus on Thursday. This took the total number of patients for the ‘super-variant’ to 10.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said: “At present, 9 Omicron patients are admitted at Delhi’s LNJP Hospital. One patient was discharged earlier. None of the patients is severe.”

Jain added, “At present, 40 Covid patients are admitted to LNJP Hospital. Eight suspects came from the airport this morning. Many coming from the airport are being found Covid positive. There is a dedicated Omicron ward at LNJP Hospital. The number of beds there has been increased from 40 to 100.”

India reported 7,974 new Covid-19 cases, 7,948 recoveries, and 343 deaths in the last 24 hours. India’s Omicron case tally stood at 73 till Wednesday. Maharashtra topped the list of Omicron cases with 32 cases till Wednesday. Rajasthan was second on the list with 17 cases.
