A bus and a car collided head-on on Thursday on the Vita-Mahabaleshwar State Highway in Sangli, Maharashtra. The collision was so strong that the car was blown away. In the accident, 4 people traveling in the car died on the spot. The car driver survived when the air bag opened. On getting the information, the Vita police reached and registered the case.
According to media reports, the car of the devotees returning after visiting the goddess collided with the bus. It is being speculated that the car driver had fallen asleep, due to which the accident took place. There was a crowd of people after the road accident.
Three weeks ago, a bus fell into a gorge in Maharashtra, killing 13.
Police rescued people with the help of local people.
Three weeks back, a bus fell into a 700 feet deep gorge in Khopoli area of Raigarh, Maharashtra. Thirteen people had died in the accident. There were more than 40 passengers in the bus. 29 people were rescued with the help of local people through rope. Some of these people also had serious injuries.
The accident took place while alighting from Shingroba Ghat on the old National Highway between Khandala and Khopoli. At present, the reason for the accident has not been revealed. The bus was going from Pune to Mumbai.
