Four Congress MPs have been barred from attending the entire monsoon session for unruly behavior and disrupting the proceedings of the House. The Opposition was protesting against price rises and inflation inside the House.

Speaker Om Birla has suspended Manickam Tagore, Ramya Haridas, Jothimani and TN Prathapan for the entire session for protesting and sloganeering inside the Lower House of Parliament with placards and posters.

The Congress stalwarts were earlier warned by the Speaker, who asked them to behave and demonstrate outside the House.

Reacting to the suspension, the grand old party said, “The government is trying to intimidate us by suspending our MPs. They were trying to raise issues which matter to the people.”

The Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the day after continuous protests by the Opposition.
