After the accident, the police gypsy was burnt to ashes.
A horrific road accident took place in Patna at around 5 am on Tuesday due to dense fog. In this, 3 policemen were burnt alive. Condition of 2 policemen is critical. It is said that a patrol vehicle (Gypsy) of Gardanibagh police was parked on the side of the road near Beur Mor. Suddenly the highway (truck) coming at high speed after loading the ballast overturned on the gypsy. As soon as it overturned, the police vehicle caught fire and there was a loud explosion, in which 5 policemen sitting in the gypsy got burnt. By the time people and police arrived for help, 3 jawans had died. Two soldiers were rushed to the hospital.
All the three who died were Home Guard jawans. All three of them were sitting in the back seat in a gypsy. The policemen who died were identified as Pukhraj Kumar, Prabhu Kumar and Siyaram Sharan. Among the injured policemen are a sub-inspector Siyaram Paswan and a constable. The constable was sitting on the driving seat, while the sub-inspector was sitting next to the driving seat. Locals said, ‘The highway seemed to be at a very high speed. Due to dense fog, the police gypsy standing in front could not be seen and uncontrollably overturned on it.

Echo of explosion up to 500 meters
The explosion was so strong that its echo could be heard for about 500 meters. The explosion appears to have taken place due to a fire in the fuel tank of the police gypsy. The police gypsy has been completely damaged. After the incident, the police of Gardanibagh and Beur police stations reached the spot. Fire brigade team also reached there and doused the fire. After this the police sent the three bodies for postmortem.
The driver fled leaving the truck
Trainee DSP Pranjal Tripathi said, ‘There was a ballast load on the highway. It is suspected that the accident happened due to fog. The driver of the highway left the car and fled. The police is also examining the CCTV footage. Information is also being taken from the people around. Further action is being taken in the matter.
